Never shy about relying on well-worn tropes, "River of Time" saw Legend of Tomorrow. Present its Version of the "Villain gets caught on purpose" Bit With a Minor wrinkle. it s minor one because Vandel Savage's time encased in a fancy cell wasn't all part of grand scheme. Instead, it was More Of a Big opportunity--to push butten to manipulate and ultimately to demoralize his crisscrossing time rivers from the Wave-rider Think More Hannibal Lecturer in silence of the Lambs and less joker in the Dark Knight Fortunately for Savage his plan required his opponents to be Irrational,Punchy and Primed for manipulation So yeah it Worked Almost immediately
